The Scholar Support Programme (SSP) is an innovative initiative by the Higher Education
Department of the Government of Kerala. Its objective is to provide personalised
supplementary assistance to underprivileged students in the subjects covered by the
curriculum. This assistance includes tutorials, study materials, extra lectures, question banks,
and interactive sessions. Colleges participating in the Programme will determine, at the
college level, the subjects in which students require extra assistance. This is derived from the
Result Analysis carried out at the University level or according to the specific needs of the
College students. Selected students in the Programme will get study material, in addition to
specialised classes taught by professors. The Programme includes the creation of Question
Banks and videos as part of content generation. The programme aims to assist slow learners
in progressing by providing them with additional support from teachers. To address this
issue, supplementary sessions are organised for subjects that students find challenging to
study.
