The Department of Statistics at Government College, Mokeri, was established in 1993 to provide complementary courses for students of diverse disciplines. Initially catering to CBCSS B.Sc. Mathematics & BA Econometrics and data management students, the department offered Descriptive or Introductory Statistics , Estimation theory and Testing statistical Hypothesis,Probability distributions and sampling theory for FYUGP Bsc Mathematics,descriptive and inferential statistics group provides , descriptive statistics for data science,probability theory one,Statistical inference using R and for BA Econometrics and data management students, statistics for basic economic data analysis group provides , basic statistics and data visualization,data analysis foundations in statistics,probability theory and sampling techniques.

The department is committed to bridging the gap between academia by emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills. Through its well-designed curriculum and advanced facilities, it prepares students to excel in computational and analytical roles, Using R programming to get an enhancement of data analysis and interpretations.
