ASAP

The Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) is a collaborative effort between the
Departments of Higher and General Education, Government of Kerala. Its primary objective
is to enhance the employability of students enrolled in Higher Secondary and Undergraduate
degrees. The Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) is a component of the State
Skill Development Project aimed at promoting the progress of Kerala society. The ASAP
programme aims to equip students with the necessary skills and qualifications to become
employable upon completing their Vocational Higher Secondary or Undergraduate studies.
Various promotional initiatives are planned to raise awareness among these pupils and the
public. The identification of student enrollment in ASAP is done through feeder colleges and
other designated institutions. Students’ skill levels are assessed using aptitude tests, and they
receive counselling services to assist them in selecting the appropriate industry for skill
development. The objective of this initiative is to provide undergraduate students with
training in many skill areas, such as communication skills and technical abilities, through
courses developed by a state-level ASAP team.
– It gives students the option to develop skills in areas where they have a natural ability, in
addition to their regular academic timetable.
– Practical training in the relevant industry – Certification by the Government of Kerala –
Industry certification with national or international accreditation.
– Proficiency in IT and possess excellent English communication skills.
