The Department of Chemistry, Government College Mokeri, had the privilege of hosting an invited lecture on “Computational Chemistry” by Dr. Nijesh K, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry Government College, Madappally on 7th January 2025. The event was organized in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Dr. Nijesh K delivered an engaging and informative lecture, introducing the audience to the fundamental concepts and applications of computational chemistry. He emphasized the importance of computational methods in understanding chemical phenomena, designing new materials, and optimizing chemical reactions.

The Department of Chemistry, Government College Mokeri, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, organized an invited lecture on “Super Hydrophobic Materials: Technology Inspired by Nature” by Dr. A. Sujith on 13.11.2024.The lecture aimed to explore the fascinating world of super hydrophobic materials and their potential applications. Dr. Sujit’s lecture commenced with an introduction to super hydrophobic materials, highlighting their unique properties and potential applications. He explained how nature has inspired the development of these materials, citing examples such as the lotus leaf and gecko feet.

The Department of Chemistry, Government College, Mokeri, organized an orientation class for BSc Chemistry students on 8th January 2025 at 9:30 AM in the seminar hall. The class topic, “Future Opportunities in Chemistry,” was conducted by CSIR-JAM exam trainer Shyvind Raj.
